Steak and Onion Stir Fry
1 Large Yellow Onion, sliced
1 lb Sirloin Steak, sliced
2 Tbsp Cornstarch
4 Tbsp Cooking Sherry
4 Tbsp Low Sodium Soy Sauce
1 Tsp Sugar
1 Tsp Salt
1/4 Cup Peanut oil or vegetable oil
1. Slice steak into strips across the grain and set aside.
2. Peel and slice onion and separate, set aside. In a mixing bowl combine cornstarch, 2 Tbsp soy sauce and 2 Tbsp Sherry and place steak into the mixture to marinate for 30 minutes.
3. In another bowl, combine remaining soy sauce, sherry sugar and salt and set aside.
4. In a wok or large skillet heat oil over high heat. Add onion and stir fry about 3 minutes, add steak with marinade and remaining sauce mixture and stir fry for another 3 - 4 minutes.
Serving Suggestions and Substitutions
Serve With: Steamed Jasmine Rice or add your favorite fresh vegetables at the last few minutes of the cooking process.
