Behind the ingredient.
Pineapple:

This wonderfully tart and sweet tropical plant is native to Paraguay and Brazil and grows to nearly 30 inches tall. The word pineapple was first recorder in 1398, and was a reference to what today is called the pinecone. When European explorers discovered this tropical fruit, they called it the pineapple to to it's resmblence to the pinecone. Pineapple is extremely high in Manganese, vitamin C and B1.
Warm Brown Sugar Pineapple & Ice Cream
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
3 tablespoons dark brown sugar
1 pineapple, peeled, cored and cubed
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pint vanilla ice cream
Instructions:
1. Melt butter in saute pan over low heat, add sugar to melt. Add pineapple and vanilla extract. Turn heat to medium-high.
2. Cook, stirring until thickened and pineapple is glazed, about 15 minutes.
3. Serve warm over ice cream.
